Sometimes two worlds collide in the most perfect way. Skateboarding and surfing although being long lost friends have been somewhat disconnected for arguably a few decades now but in recent years, it's been incredible to see a new connection starting to form with a generation of skateboarders discovering wave riding and the stoke the ocean can provide. 

The new Vice documentary  'Death Defying Skateboarding : The  Untold Arto Saari Story' uncovers Arto's life and journey from Finland to LA to Hawaii and from skateboarding to family life to surfing and photography. 

At just over 50 minutes long, this film is perfectly suited to our Welcome Distractions and on a personal note, coming from a background in skateboarding, a career in the surf industry, a deep love for surfing and a passion for photography, this makes for perfect stormy weekend viewing.... enjoy
